New Salem Zion Baptist Church
Located at 675 Jerusalem Road in Pacolet, South Carolina New Salem Zion Baptist Church started its rich history being established to service the community of Pacolet for the sole purpose of bringing individuals to Christ through love and fellowship. New Salem Zion has always had the value of blessing those who came across its holy ground and to stand strong in a small community--to make a difference in the lives of its people. Established in 1878, many pastors and teachers have graced the walls of this church and have led the congregation to point its way to the Risen Savior whom we still serve today. Our present edifice was built in the year 2000 --and we're still growing stronger in the teachings of God. "Zion"; as we affectionally call her have had to weather some storms, but through it all God has kept this landmark of a church to shine in the Pacolet community. As God have seen fit to allow New Salem Zion to continue to stand firm, He has truly blessed us with such a man "in a time like this"--to lead us to higher heights and deeper depths. We were blessed to have this special man come in April of 2008 to lead us in the things of God. This God-fearing man by the name of Dr. Larry D. Black is now serving as Senior Pastor with a vision of Total Outreach and with the spirit of "realness" that comes with reaching "all mankind". Pastor Black believes that all people from all walks of life are "precious to God" and deserves to know that He still loves them--no matter where they are in their walk with Him. We are honored still that God continues to find "favor" in our church and for this we are truly grateful to Him.
